Graduate of the University of Florida with a BS in Business Administration. He was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1960. He has been active within the accounting profession having served as an officer of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants for seven years. He serviced as president of that organization during 1986-87. He also served on council of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
